Pitt coach Suzie McConnell-Serio has added another WPIAL recruit.

Seton-La Salle senior Naje Gibson, one of the region's top basketball players in the 2014 class, has verbally committed to the Panthers. Her teammate at Seton-La Salle, junior Cassidy Walsh, also chose Pitt this past weekend.

“I just felt comfortable with the coaches,” Gibson said. “And I could see myself playing at home where my friends and family could watch.”

Gibson said she wasn't interested in Pitt until after the program's recent coaching change.

The 6-foot forward led Seton-La Salle last season in scoring average (13.0), rebounds (195) and steals (81). Gibson, the great-granddaughter of Negro League great Josh Gibson, was a member the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Terrific 10.

Walsh, a point guard, switched her verbal commitment from Duquesne to Pitt to follow McConnell-Serio, who changed schools earlier this year.
