Former Beaver Falls basketball star Sheldon Jeter signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play for Pitt next season.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Jeter is attending Polk State College in Winter Haven, Fla., after averaging 5.5 points in 18 minutes per game as a freshman at Vanderbilt.

Jeter, the 2011-12 Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Player of the Year, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining for the Panthers.
