High school basketball notebook: Rosters released for 20th annual Cager Classic

Rosters were released for the 20th annual Cager Classic all-star games, scheduled for March 19 at Highlands.

They are as follows:

East boys: DeShawon Bracy, Kiski Area; Robby Deemer, Plum; James Edwards, Plum; Lloyd Galloway, Apollo-Ridge; Brandon Heilman, Armstrong; Ben Lazor, Riverview; Brendan Lettrich, Burrell; Dayon Lloyd, Valley; Blake Steininger, Leechburg; Brendan Urso, Fox Chapel; Tanner Witenski, Armstrong; Mike Zappala, Fox Chapel.

The girls game will start at 6 p.m., the boys at 8.

Boys coaches are Mike Beale of Freeport (West) and Damian Davies of Leechburg (East). Girls coaches are Fred Soilis of Freeport (West) and Joel Ceraso of Leechburg (East).

The annual skills competition will be 7 p.m. March 18.

SWCAC playoffs

Cheswick Christian Academy's boys and girls teams will open the Southwest Christian Athletic Conference playoffs this week.

The top-seeded boys will play American Spirit at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Aquinas Academy. Semifinals are Thursday at Portersville Christian.

Cheswick's girls take on Aquinas at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Portersville. Girls semis are Wednesday at Wilson Christian.

The finals are Saturday at Geneva College. The girls game starts at 3 p.m., the boys game follows at 5.
