Ambridge girls top Uniontown

Katie Fischer hit five 3-pointers and scored 18 points, and Kelly Haslett added 10 points and 10 rebounds as Ambridge (15-8) defeated Uniontown, 45-38, in a WPIAL Class AAA first-round playoff game Wednesday at Canon-McMillan High School.
With the win, Ambridge advances to the quarterfinals and will play Hopewell on Saturday at a site and time to be determined.
Danasha Harris and Lydya Dennis each scored 10 points for Uniontown (17-3).
The loss snapped an 11-game winning streak for the Red Raiders.
