'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Blackhawk point guard Chassidy Omogrosso, who verbally committed to Pitt in January, has switched her pick to Duquesne.

Omogrosso, a rising junior, chose Pitt before coach Agnus Berenato was replaced by Suzie McConnell-Serio. That coaching change created some uncertainty for Omogrosso, who met Monday with first-year Duquesne coach Dan Burt.

“It just worked out better for her at Duquesne,” Blackhawk coach Steve Lodovico.

Omogrosso was second among Class AAA scorers last season with a 22.1 average and led Blackhawk to a 27-2 record.
