Zach Bryan, Alex Haas and Gage McCracken each scored 11 points, leading Norwin to a 55-37 win over rival Penn-Trafford in Section 1-AAAA play Tuesday night.
The Knights (8-5, 3-3), who won their sixth straight game, led by 21 points at halftime. Sean Stinelli scored 13 points for Penn-Trafford (4-9, 1-5), which dropped its sixth straight.
“We didn't feel good about ourselves (three weeks ago),” Norwin coach Lynn Washowich said. “I've said all along that the easiest way to get the momentum back is to start winning games. Now we've got six in a row, and we've got another one tomorrow night that we've got to try and win.”
Norwin plays host to Woodland Hills in a nonsection game Wednesday.
Hempfield 37, Latrobe 35 — Kason Harrell scored a game-high 22 points, including two late free-throws that ultimately became the game-winning points as Hempfield (11-1, 6-0) remained undefeated in Section 1-AAAA.
Matt Cullen led Latrobe (7-5, 3-2) with 14 points.
Indiana 57, Kittanning 38 — Riley Stapleton had 17 points to lead Indiana (12-1, 5-1) to a Section 1-AAA victory. Noah Kunst had 13 points for Kittanning (4-10, 1-5).
Greensburg Salem 63, Derry 43 — Simeon Stevens led all scorers with 21 points as Greensburg Salem (6-7, 3-2) earned a victory in Section 3-AAA. Antonio Ferrari scored 17 points for the Golden Lions.
Matt Vasinko led Derry (3-7, 2-4) with 15 points.
Mt. Pleasant 85, Southmoreland 45 — Mitch Matlas scored a game-high 19 points, including six 3-pointers, as Mt. Pleasant (7-5, 4-1) won in Section 3-AAAA.
Tommy Pisula recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds for Southmoreland (1-11, 0-6).
Uniontown 69, Laurel Highlands 42 — Joe Campbell led all scorers with 24 points as Uniontown (12-1, 6-0) earned a victory in Section 3-AAA.
Xavier Ellis and Jordan Pratt scored 16 and 17 points, respectively, for the Red Raiders.
Summit Academy 97, Burrell 61 — Dasonte White drained nine 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 35 points to lead Summit Academy (9-3, 4-0) to a win in Section 2-AA.
Clairton 65, Geibel 26 — Isiah Hollis scored a game-high 17 points as Clairton (4-2, 2-0) won in Section 3-A. James Ewing led Geibel (1-11, 0-4) with 11 points.
Monessen 78, Carmichaels 55 — Justice Rawlins led Monessen (8-4,3-0) with a game-high 22 points in a Section 3-A win. Carmichaels' Brandon Lawless scored 17 points and surpassed the 1,000-point plateau.
Penn-Trafford 45, Norwin 39 — Maria Palarino scored a game-high 20 points, and Penn-Trafford (8-4, 7-0) won in Section 1-AAAA. Katy Abreu added 16 points for the Warriors, who never trailed.
Alayna Gribble scored 16 points for Norwin (6-5, 4-1).
Plum 62, Franklin Regional 40 — Courtney Zezza scored a game-high 22 points as Plum (9-3, 5-1) won in Section 2-AAAA. Krista Pietropola added 20 points for the Mustangs.
Baylee Buleca led Franklin Regional (5-7, 2-4) with 13 points.
California 42, Carmichaels 26 — Tristen Conaway and Jenna Miller each scored a game-high 14 points as California (10-3, 4-0) earned a victory in Section 3-A.
Belle Vernon 37, Connellsville 22 — Belle Vernon earned eight victories as the Leopards (8-2, 5-0) remained undefeated in Class AAA, Section 2A. Jacob Dunlop (106 pounds) started the match with a 16-0 technical fall victory over Austin Tuchek.
William Korber pinned Matt Butler 3:55 into their 195-pound bout to cap off the win for Belle Vernon.
Brendan Hasson (120), Mitchell Hartman (126), Cameron Evans (138), Jarod Verkleeren (145), Derek Verkleeren (152) and Joshua Godzin (160) also earned victories for the Leopards.
