'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Olivia Barkley scored 15 points, and Natalie Fekula added 14 in leading the Elizabeth Forward girls basketball team to a 52-30 victory over Bradford on Saturday in the opening round of the PIAA Class AAA playoffs at Pitt-Bradford.

The Warriors (24-4) held a 24-17 lead at halftime and used an 18-7 run in the third quarter to seal the victory.

Ali Rinfrette scored a game-high 16 points for Bradford.

The EF girls advanced to Tuesday's PIAA second round, where they will play Mt. Pleasant (16-9) at 8 p.m. at Fox Chapel High School.
