Valley continues to look more at home in Class AA.

The Vikings won their second consecutive game, rolling over East Allegheny, 27-12, in an Allegheny Conference game Friday night.

Valley's big-play backs continued to lead the way. Senior Jaden Walker rushed for 154 yards and a touchdown. Junior Demetrius Houser racked up 145 yards rushing and two scores.

“This is a good team we played,” Valley coach Chad Walsh said. “There are a lot of athletes out there. We stuck to our game plan. We were able to run the football on them.”

Coupled with their defeat of then-No. 7 Freeport last week, Valley has momentum heading into the second half of the season.

“We're right where we want to be,” Walsh said. “We talked all week about needing to get to that 3-2 point. That puts us right in the middle of the conference fighting for a playoff berth.”

Houser said he doesn't mind splitting the carries if it gets his team to the postseason.

“I always like to share,” Houser said. “It takes a whole family to do what we need to do on the field.”

Houser put Valley on the board as time expired in the first quarter with a 39-yard touchdown run.

East Allegheny (1-4, 1-4) answered on the ensuing kickoff as KJ Marshall returned the ball 87 yards for a Wildcats touchdown.

Houser broke the 6-6 tie with a 7-yard touchdown run on Valley's next possession, and Ty Matthews gave the Vikings a 20-7 lead with a 54-yard touchdown pass to Chaz Cheatham late in the second quarter.

East Allegheny was poised to close the gap in the third quarter after a botched Valley snap went over the head of punter Jordan Frame.

The Wildcats took over at the Valley 4-yard line, but an ineligible receiver penalty backed the Wildcats to the 19. Marshall fumbled two plays later.

The Vikings then went on a 90-yard scoring drive capped by Walker's 9-yard touchdown run.
