Central Catholic hadn't allowed a touchdown through its first four games but knew it would be tested against a Seneca Valley team whose star scored seven times last week.

What the Vikings couldn't have imagined was that the Raiders would jump to a 20-point lead before Forrest Barnes found the end zone.

Jordan Brown completed 12 of 21 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns as No. 7 Seneca Valley stunned No. 4 Central Catholic, 34-7, in a Quad North Conference game Thursday night at NexTier Stadium.

“They were blitzing, and I told our guys that when you blitz, it's high risk, high reward,” Seneca Valley coach Don Holl said. “We had to make them pay for taking those chances.”

Seneca Valley (4-1, 3-1) snapped Central Catholic's 17-quarter streak of keeping opponents out of the end zone. The Raiders relied on a 10-play, 80-yard drive capped by a 6-yard pop pass from Brown to R.J. McCauley on the first play of the second quarter to become the first team to score a touchdown on the Vikings (4-1, 3-1) this season.

The Raiders weren't done.

Jon Dorogy turned a bubble screen into a 58-yard touchdown for a 13-0 lead with 9:08 remaining in the third quarter. Central linebacker Leo Loughrey blocked the extra point.

McCauley made a fingertip grab of a Brown throw and sprinted down the home sideline for a 46-yard touchdown and a 20-0 lead with 6:01 remaining in the third.

“I didn't think we responded well in the second half,” Central Catholic coach Terry Totten said. “We got behind and never got to establish anything.”

Central played without top running back Luigi Lista-Brinza (high ankle sprain) and struggled to run the ball consistently before Todd Coles answered with a 33-yard scoring run to cut the deficit to 20-7 at 5:05 of the third quarter.

Barnes, who broke Seneca Valley's career rushing record of 2,314 yards set by Brian Buerkle in 1989, was coming off a 305-yard, seven-touchdown performance against Connellsville. He scored on a 7-yard run for a 27-7 lead, added a 1-yarder with 17 seconds left to make it 34-7 and finished with 141 yards on 27 carries.
