Trib HS Insider Q&A: Laurel Highlands’ Joe Pegg

Joe Pegg is a senior wide receiver for Laurel Highlands football. Through the first six games of the season, Pegg has been a big part of the Mustangs' passing game. He has 24 catches for 315 yards and three touchdowns.
Pegg is a three-sport athlete at Laurel Highlands. In addition to football, he also plays basketball and is a jumper and runner for the track and field team.
Q: Although Laurel Highlands has struggled record-wise, are you seeing improvement as the season moves along?
A: We're trying to get all of our plays down, and we're improving. The whole team is trying, and with the improvement, we're becoming more of a team.
Q: What goals have you set for the rest of the season?
A: Just to pick it up offensively. I want to block better and get more receiving yards and touchdowns so that we can score more points.
Q: What are your plans for after high school?
A: I'd like to go to college. I'm still looking. I'd like to play (basketball or football) so we'll see what happens.
Q: What are you planning to major in when you are in college?
A: Criminal justice.
Q: What's your favorite movie?
A: “Taken.”
Q: What's your favorite subject in school?
A: English.
Q: What's your favorite food?
A: My mom's chicken-stuffed shells. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.
Q: What is your favorite professional sports team?
A: The Miami Heat.
Q: Who is your favorite athlete?
A: LeBron James. I've been following him for a while now. He's very aggressive and he leads his team.
