'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Jim Pierce threw for 116 yards, including a 9-yard touchdown pass to Corey Dascenzo, but Laurel Highlands dropped a 41-20 decision to McGuffey in a Week 10 nonconference game Wednesday night.

Pierce also scored on a 1-yard run, and Jason Leone scored on a 2-yard run for Laurel Highlands (1-9).

James Duchi rushed for 329 yards and four touchdowns for McGuffey (5-5).
