West Mifflin knocks off Central Valley in OT

West Mifflin needed overtime, but the No. 7-seeded Titans advanced to the WPIAL Class AAA championship game for the first time in 2004 with a 36-35 victory over No. 3 Central Valley on Friday night at North Allegheny's Newman Stadium.
Quarterback Derrick Fulmore dove into the end zone for a two-point conversion in overtime to give the Titans (11-1) the victory.
Fulmore rushed for 162 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns and Jimmy Wheeler added 141 yards on 34 carries and a touchdown for the Titans.
Central Valley (9-3) star Robert Foster finished with 147 yards rushing and three touchdowns — two rushing and a 61-yard kickoff return.
West Allegheny 24, Thomas Jefferson 7 — Class AAA No. 4 seed West Allegheny (11-1) rushed for 122 yards on 47 carries and dominated time of possession as it upset No. 1 Thomas Jefferson (11-1) at Bethel Park.
Joe Carroll completed just 11 of 33 passes for 160 yards for Thomas Jefferson, including a 47-yard touchdown pass to Zach Schademan.
North Allegheny 41, Seneca Valley 17 — North Allegheny quarterback Mack Leftwich accounted for 439 yards of offense and seven touchdowns as two-time defending WPIAL champion North Allegheny (12-0) routed Seneca Valley (10-2) in the Class AAAA semifinals at North Hills. Leftwich was 18 for 23 for 360 yards and seven passing touchdowns. He also had 19 carries for a team-high 79 yards and two rushing touchdowns for the Tigers.
Woodland Hills 42, Upper St. Clair 20 — No. 7 seed Woodland Hills (10-2) took advantage of three early Upper St. Clair mistakes and rolled to an upset victory over the third-seeded Panthers (10-2) in a WPIAL Class AAAA semifinal at Baldwin Stadium.
Three first quarter touchdowns gave Woodland Hills an early cushion, and the Wolverines added three insurance touchdowns in the second half to preserve the victory.
Washington 26, South Fayette 14 — Shai McKenzie rushed for 293 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 3 Washington (12-0) to a 26-14 victory over No. 2 South Fayette in the WPIAL Class AA semifinals at Chartiers Valley High School.
South Fayette's Brett Brumbaugh threw for 218 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score, but he also tossed two interceptions.
Aliquippa 56, Jeannette 0 — At Peters Township, Dravon Henry rushed for 171 yards, and top-seeded Aliquippa capitalized on six Jeannette turnovers resulting in five touchdowns to bury the fourth-seeded Jayhawks and advance to its fifth consecutive WPIAL Class AA championship game.
Clairton 37, Neshannock 7 — Clairton (12-0) won its 59th straight game — tying Central Bucks West's state record — in a Class A semifinal victory against Neshannock (10-2) at Chartiers-Houston.
Tyler Boyd rushed for 121 yards on 17 carries and senior quarterback Armani Ford completed 10 of 14 passes for 154 yards and four touchdowns for the Bears.
Sto-Rox 34, North Catholic 20 — Lenny Williams rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two more as No. 2 Sto-Rox (11-1) edged North Catholic in the WPIAL Class A semifinals at Dormont Stadium. Running back P.J. Fulmore ran for 204 yards on 33 carries to lead sixth-seeded North Catholic (9-3). Williams completed 12 of 18 passes for 184 yards and rushed for 90 on 18 carries.
