ERIE — Damion Terry and Delton Williams aren't expected to play on the same side of the ball when the Cathedral Prep pair head to Michigan State.

Then again, as West Allegheny can attest, the Spartans might want to consider using both on offense.

Williams scored three second-half touchdowns, and Terry carved up the West Allegheny defense for 365 yards to lead District 10 champion Cathedral Prep (13-0) to a 27-13 come-from-behind victory over the Indians (12-2) at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

“If there's a spot open for him, I definitely want him there,” Terry said. “He's one of our best receivers on our team and the best runner, so we just put the ball in his hands.”

Terry completed 22 of 33 for 257 yards and three touchdowns and rushed 18 times for 108 yards.

“They had a better recruiting year than Pitt,” West Allegheny coach Bob Palko said. “They're very talented. They're good. There's nothing you can do about it. ... Sometimes their Johnnys are better than your Joes.”

West Allegheny lost senior tight end/linebacker Zech Medved late in the first quarter. He broke his hand then one play later tore his medial collateral ligament when he was tackled after he made a 27-yard catch.

But even with Terry and Williams, Cathedral Prep needed a couple of things to go its way to turn the momentum West Allegheny built with a 10-point, second-quarter lead.

The shift came within a span of about two minutes.

Chayse Dillon scored on a 13-yard run on the first play of the second quarter to give West Allegheny a 7-0 lead. Evan Pelcher kicked a 38-yard field goal to make it 10-0 with 2:10 left in the half, and that's Terry took over. He worked the two-minute drill to perfection as he pushed the Ramblers to the West Allegheny 10-yard line with 19.9 seconds left.

West Allegheny appeared to hold Cathedral Prep on third-and-7, but the Indians were called for roughing the passer, giving the Ramblers a third-and-2 from the 5. Terry connected with Alex Greenawalt with 10.2 seconds left to pull them to within 10-6 at the half.
