Born with pedigree, Riverview's Tim Wagner seemed destined to make an impact on the football field.

The nephew of legendary Oakmont, Riverview and Springdale football coach Chuck Wagner, the Raiders' senior has become a multi-purpose player while trying to get along with his twin brother and teammate, Greg.

“We fight like typical brothers would,” he said. “But our fights are over in a minute.”

Tim, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound senior, has become a multi-dimensional player for the Raiders. He's been used at wing-back and receiver, and has returned kicks and punts, while contributing on defense at safety.

He is the Raiders' leading pass-catcher, with 10 receptions for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

Q: How often do you get to see former coach Wagner?

A: As often as we can. He comes to see us play. He tries to keep himself occupied since he isn't coaching any more. We play Springdale (Friday), and I look forward to seeing him there. Hopefully, he isn't rooting for the other team.

Q: The season has been somewhat of a struggle for Riverview. How has it been as a senior player?

A: We didn't have the start we wanted, but we still have the opportunity to finish strong. Once we lost to West Shamokin it was en eye-opener. We had to block that out and

turn it into a learning experience. We didn't show up that game. You never want to take a team lightly.

Q: What's the team's goal across the final two weeks?

A: Make it as memorable as we can for the seniors and the rest of the team.

Q: You and Greg are not identical twins, but people can tell you're brothers, right?

A: We look completely different from each other. We look nothing alike. When we were little, we went to a twins convention and won a gold medal for the least-look-alike twins.

Q: Riverview has been bringing in portable lights for one game a year since 2006. Do you like the night home games or do you prefer the traditional Saturday afternoon games at Riverside Park?

A: The Saturday games are kind of nice. We look forward to them. Colleges play on Saturdays, and it's a different feel. The lights give a different atmosphere, but I think we get more hyped up for Saturday games.

Q: What color is the Hulton Bridge?

A: White, right? No, it's lilac. Oh yeah, I heard once that it used to be purple.
