Free kicks: Freeport last made the playoffs in 2010, when it lost to top-seeded South Park, 3-0. Its last playoff win came in 2008. Senior Erica Jack and junior Megan Manke propel the offense, while Erica's twin sister, Dava, anchors the defense. … Central Valley, a semifinalist the last two seasons, is Class AA's only unbeaten team.

Free kicks: Hopewell was a quarterfinalist a year ago and a semifinalist in 2010. Winner plays: Winner of No. 1 Greensburg Central Catholic/winner of Riverview-Mohawk preliminary-round game

Free kicks: Springdale beat Charleroi, 1-0, in the 89 game a season ago and lost to Greensburg Central Catholic in the quarterfinals. … Prior to last season, the Dynamos made the WPIAL semifinals every year from 2006-11. Junior Allison Seiler has been strong in goal. … Charleroi lost in the first round the last three seasons and last won a playoff game in 2002.

Winner plays: No. 1 Greensburg Central Catholic

Free kicks: Mohawk upset No. 3 Bishop Canevin in the first round and advanced to the semifinals last year, while Riverview lost to eventual finalist Sewickley Academy, 5-0, in the first round. … Riverview, which had 29 goals in its seven wins, scored in just three of its 10 losses.
