'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Trailing two games to none, the Knights rallied for a 3-2 win over No. 4 Seneca Valley, taking the final three sets 25-22, 25-16 and 15-13, to complete the comeback in the Class AAA volleyball quarterfinals Tuesday night at North Allegheny.

Norwin will play No. 1 North Allegheny in the semifinals Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Chartiers Valley.

Indiana 3, Elizabeth Forward 0 — At Fox Chapel, top-seeded Little Indians swept a Class AA quarterfinal match. Indiana will play Hopewell in the semifinals.

Bishop Canevin 3, Serra Catholic 0 — The top-seeded Crusaders swept their way through the Class A quarterfinals with scores of 25-7, 25-19 and 25-18 at Baldwin. Bishop Canevin will play Neshannock in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at North Allegheny.
