'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Five West Shamokin boys volleyball players were honored for their play this spring with spots on the all-Section 2-AA teams chosen by the section's coaches.

Junior outside hitter Ryan Dean was the lone first-team selection from the Wolves, who again reached the WPIAL playoffs this season. He was the only first-team pick not from first-place Derry or second-place Deer Lakes.

Four of Dean's teammates made the all-section second team — middle hitter Brenden Glover, libero D.J. Hough and outside hitters Chris Schink and Brady Cornman.
