• Rangers ace Yu Darvish is set to make his first start of the season Sunday at Tampa Bay. Darvish, battling neck issues, was placed on the disabled list to start the season, though the move was retroactive to March 21, making the right-hander eligible to be activated this weekend. He felt good Wednesday, a day after an 86-pitch bullpen session.

• Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins returned home to Philadelphia to be with his wife for the birth of their second child. Rollins was not immediately placed on the paternity list.

• Reliever Jonathan Broxton could be ready to pitch next week, giving the Reds an experienced closer until Aroldis Chapman is ready to return from a head injury. Manager Bryan Price said that if all goes well, Broxton could be activated from the 15-day disabled list at the start of next week. Broxton is recovering from surgery on his pitching forearm last August.

• The Dodgers placed reliever Brian Wilson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday, with inflammation in the ulnar nerve in his right elbow.

• Former All-Star outfielder Lenny Dykstra filed a lawsuit saying he was badly beaten by deputies in a Los Angeles County jail. Dykstra, who played for the Mets and Phillies, filed suit against the county and several Sheriff's Department employees, saying his head was slammed against the wall, his teeth were knocked out and he was beaten until he was “barely breathing.”

• Mets closer Bobby Parnell was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a partially torn elbow ligament and is expected to be out until at least late May.

• Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos had surgery for a broken hamate bone in his left hand and is expected to miss about four to six weeks.
