Four games scheduled to be played Wednesday in the Northeast were postponed because of the ripple effects from a massive storm system.

Games at Yankee Stadium, Citizens Bank Park, Fenway Park and Oriole Park at Camden Yards were all called.

Persistent showers postponed Robinson Cano's second game back in New York after signing as a free agent with the Mariners last winter. The game was rescheduled for June 2.

In Boston, the Red Sox's game against the Rays will be made up Thursday as part of a day-night doubleheader.

The Phillies-Mets game scheduled to be played in Philadelphia was moved to June 2, which previously was an open date for both teams.

Brewers starters still out

Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun (oblique) and shortstop Jean Segura (cut on head) missed their third consecutive start Wednesday against the Cardinals. Third baseman Aramis Ramirez (elbow) sat out his second straight game.

Segura and Ramirez are expected to return Thursday for a four-game series at Cincinnati, though Braun remains day-to-day.

Manager Ron Roenicke said Braun will not start Thursday and added, “In a couple days, he needs to be ready to go.”

Segura played the eighth inning at shortstop and doubled in the ninth of a 9-3 defeat.

Also, right-hander Matt Garza was removed during the fourth inning of Wednesday's game with a bruised right thumb.

Ex-Pirate Johnson gets start

Former Pirates left-hander Kris Johnson will make his first start for the Twins in the nightcap of a day-night doubleheader against the Dodgers. Johnson was acquired in a trade with the Pirates in November.

The 29-year-old made four appearances last season for the Pirates in his major league debut, including one start.
