WPXI airs wrong 'Jeopardy!' episode during Tournament of Champions; outrage ensues
If you're a "Jeopardy" fan, you were eagerly awaiting the Tournament of Champions last night.
But, alas, you were disappointed.
In some parts of the country, the show was pre-empted by pre-game coverage of the Steelers-Titans NFL Thursday Night Football pregame show.
In Pittsburgh, the show aired at 7 p.m., BUT, it was the wrong episode. Around 9 p.m., WPXI acknowledged the error and said it would air the correct episode at 3 a.m. Friday morning. Apparently NBC5 in northern New York also aired the wrong episode.
That is super helpful. I think you don't really understand the sort of people who watch @Jeopardy , we're not really all 3am types.— Danielle Johnson (@On_A_Cajun) November 17, 2017
First . @WPXI replays old #Jeopardy episode during Tournament of Champions Then . @SNFonNBC mistakes audience for gamers and overdoes SkyCam perspective in #TENvsPIT Not a good night for . @NBC viewers— Brian Long (@ElderBrian) November 17, 2017
Those in areas where the show was pre-empted also had plenty to say:
When your local NBC station doesn't play Jeopardy because they want to air an hour of pre-game NFL coverage, there can only be one reaction: RAGE. Don't they get this is the finals of the #TournamentOfChampions #Jeopardy #NerdProblems— MichelleDainusPeters (@mdainus) November 17, 2017
way above my pay grade. That's an NBC network thing.— WECT Sports (@wectsports) November 17, 2017
One more reason to hate the NFL this year: #Jeopardy was moved because of stupid football and I missed it! AAAAUUUGGGHHHHHH— Barbara Hoffman (@indybhoffman) November 17, 2017
This is ironic.
Spoiler alert: All of Thursday's contestants answered (or questioned) Final Jeopardy! incorrectly.
