Richard Sherman signed a four-year contract extension with the Seahawks on Wednesday, a deal that makes him one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in NFL history. Sherman announced the deal on his website ahead of a news conference that was called by the team. Sherman wrote that the extension is for $57.4 million with $40 million guaranteed and will keep him with Seattle through the 2018 season.

• According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Raiders are considering former Pitt quarterback Tom Savage as a second-day pick.

• The Cardinals signed former Steelers linebacker Larry Foote to a one-year contract. The Steelers released Foote in March after he missed all but one game of the 2013 season with a right biceps injury.

• The Players Association confirmed the union filed a grievance on behalf of Jimmy Graham concerning the Saints tight end's franchise tag designation. At issue is whether the NFL was correct to apply the tight end tag to Graham or he should have received the more lucrative wide receiver tag, a difference of $5 million.

• Colts owner Jim Irsay is expected to make the final pitch for Indianapolis' 2018 Super Bowl bid May 19 in Atlanta. Irsay has been undergoing treatment since March when he was arrested near his home in an Indianapolis suburb. The arrest report said he had $29,000 in cash and bottles of prescription drugs in his car.

• Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed optimism that the Bills will remain in Buffalo and suggested the franchise will need a new stadium to ensure its long-term viability.
