The Penguins have lost another free agent forward.

Left wing Steve Sullivan, a power play specialist who produced 17 goals and 48 points last season, has signed with the Phoenix Coyotes.

Sullivan, who turns 38 on Friday, signed a one-year deal worth $1.85 million. He earned $1.5 million with the Penguins last season.

The Penguins have now lost two free agent forwards - Sullivan and Arron Asham, who signed a two-year deal with the Rangers on Sunday - to free agency.

Sullivan's agent, Steve Bartlett, acknowledged to the Tribune-Review that he and Sullivan couldn't wait any longer on the Penguins, who are currently waiting to hear final word on free agent left wing Zach Parise's decision. The Penguins are one of multiple NHL teams to offer Parise a mega-contract.

“We had to move on at some point,” Bartlett said. “Can't wait forever.”

Parise and free agent defenseman Ryan Suter are expected to finally make their respective decisions today.
