'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

The Penguins don't yet have a coach, but they know against whom they will begin the 2014-15 season.

The Anaheim Ducks will play Oct. 9 at Consol Energy Center in the season opener for both teams.

Ducks goaltender John Gibson, a Whitehall native, could play against the Penguins for the first time.

The Penguins went 2-0 against Anaheim last season. Both teams lost a Game 7 on their home ice in the second round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The full NHL schedule will be released Sunday.
