Phillies starter: Aaron Cook 3 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 SO, 1 WP

Pirates starter: Kyle McPherson 5 IP, 4 H, 1 SO

Bad timing: The first hit LHP Mike Zagurski yielded this spring was a biggie: Pete Orr's solo homer in the eigthth inning, which snapped a 1-1 tie. Zagurski has a 1.80 ERA through five outings.

Flashing leather: With his back to the field and on the run, CF Andrew McCutchen snared a deep fly ball by Ryan Howard. Brandon Inge reached over the railing into the stands to grab Domonic Brown's foul popup.

Aw, rats: With runners on the corners and one out against journeyman RHP Rodrigo Lopez, Inge grounded into a 1-6-3 double play.

Stock up: It was a clean outing by McPherson, who's hunting that No. 5 starter job. He got into two jams — a leadoff single by Howard in the second and a leadoff double by Chase Utley in the fourth — but escaped each time.

Stock down: LHP Andy Oliver walked the first batter he faced and yielded another run, boosting his spring ERA to 13.50.
