'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Riverhounds gameday

at Dayton

7 p.m.

Dayton Outpatient Care Stadium

Last meeting: 1-0 loss, Saturday in Pittsburgh

Key players: Midfielder Kevin Kerr has stayed involved in the Riverhounds' attack but has just two goals since leading the team in scoring during the preseason. Dutch Lions striker Eli Garner had the lone goal Saturday, and his speed consistently caused problems for the Riverhounds back line.

Inside the matchup: The Riverhounds (1-9-5) sit 10 points out of a playoff spot, and a loss to fellow USL Pro strugglers Dayton (4-10-2) would almost completely sink any postseason hopes. The Riverhounds are 0-3-1 in league play since their only win, at Rochester.
