Steelers star running back Le'Veon Bell hinted that he'll be returning to the team soon.

Bell posted "9-1-17" on Twitter on Tuesday in response to a fan's post asking when he was going to join the team again. Bell has not been to training camp or preseason games in protest of his franchise-tag tender, which locks him in a one-year contract worth $12.12 million. Bell and the team have not come to terms on a long-term contract and Bell has not signed the franchise tender.

User @Vadarmendariz asked, "So like when is le'veon bell gonna show up?? @L_Bell26 #firsttimefantasyfootballer #girljusttryingtowin " around 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

Bell responded a little later with "9-1-17."

@Vadarmendariz thanked him - "That's the greatest news I heard all week.. #thankyou #beastRB" and Bell relied "you're welcome ."

@Vadarmendariz Twitter feed mentions being a Fantasy Football first-timer and she seems to be wondering about who to pick up as running back for her team. Her feed doesn't mention being a particular Steelers fan.

The exchange garnered lots of praise for @Vadarmendariz for having possibly scooped the rest of the sports media on Bell's return.

The Steelers have two more preseason games, Saturday at Heinz Feild against the Indianapolis Colts and Friday, August 31 at the Carolina Panthers. If Bell returns on Sept. 1 it would be the day after the last preseason game.

The Steelers open the regular season at the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Sept. 10.
