• ESPN reported that former Bears coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Ditka (Aliquippa/Pitt) was released from the hospital Sunday after being treated for what doctors said was “a very minor stroke.” The 73-year-old hopes to return to his duties on ESPN next week.

• Eagles running back LeSean McCoy (Pitt) left Philadelphia's 31-6 loss to the Washington Redskins in the fourth quarter with a concussion. McCoy was taken off the field on a cart after staying down following a 7-yard run.

• New England lost tight end Rob Gronkowski (Woodland Hills) to an arm injury late in Sunday's win over Indianapolis. The Boston Globe reported he broke his left forearm and will miss at least four games.

• Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert was injured in the first quarter against the Houston Texans. Gabbert bruised his right elbow when he was hit by Danieal Manning and fumbled on Jacksonville's first drive.

• Broncos running back Willis McGahee hurt his right knee early in the second quarter when he was tackled by San Diego defensive back Quentin Jammer. The 10-year veteran was helped off the field and onto the bench after the hard tackle.
