The Steelers are in the market for another assistant coach.

Scottie Montgomery accepted the offensive coordinator position at his alma mater, Duke, after spending three years as Steelers wide receiver coach.

Montgomery, 34, coached receivers for three seasons at Duke from 2006-09 under David Cutcliffe. Montgomery was Cutcliffe's first wide receivers coach at Duke.

Montgomery played at Duke from 1996-99, finishing with 171 receptions and 2,379 yards. He was named team MVP in 1998 and '99, becoming one of five two-time team MVPs in Duke history. Montgomery played in the NFL for Carolina and Denver.

Since the end of the season, the Steelers have lost offensive line coach Sean Kugler, who took the head coaching job at UTEP, and special teams coach Amos Jones, who took the same job with Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals.

Those positions have been filled by Jack Bicknell Jr. and Danny Smith, respectively. The Steelers also could be looking for a special teams assistant.
