Steelers-Raiders play to watch: Two tight read-option

Steelers/NFL Videos

Steelers LB Lawrence Timmons vs. Raiders RB Darren McFadden

MATCHUP: With all the talk and emphasis on Terrelle Pryor — and rightfully so — Darren McFadden can sneak up and hurt you. The Steelers found that out last season when McFadden rushed for 113 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown run in a 34-31 win. Lawrence Timmons will be responsible for not letting that happen again.

···

TIMMONS: He is coming off a 20-tackle performance in which five came after breaking his left hand. After a slow start, Timmons has come on with back-to-back, 10-plus tackle games. Timmons leads the team with 66 tackles and is one of two players on the Steelers' defense who has played every snap this season.

···

MCFADDEN: He has complemented Pryor and the read-option run game by providing a run presence between the tackles. McFadden has rushed for 267 yards on 69 carries despite missing a game with a hamstring injury. All but 82 of McFadden's yards have come between the tackles, but he has broken only eight tackles.
