U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder -- who has called into question his own veracity, put politics above the rule of law, sidestepped transparency and imperiled national security -- must go.

He gave conflicting confirmation-hearing testimony about his relationship with fugitive financier Marc Rich, who was pardoned by President Bill Clinton on Mr. Holder's recommendation. His Justice Department won't reveal its rationale for dismissing a New Black Panther Party voter-intimidation case.

He hindered anti-terror operations by appointing a special prosecutor to probe alleged CIA interrogation abuses. He's providing an undeserved soapbox and undeserved rights to enemy combatant Khalid Sheikh Mohammed by ordering a federal-court trial in New York City -- a ruinously expensive security nightmare -- for the 9/11 mastermind.

And his FBI effectively scuttled a valuable intelligence source by reading the Christmas Day airline bomber his Miranda rights -- without consulting intelligence agencies -- after just 50 minutes of interrogation.

Eric Holder's incompetence on issue after issue makes him manifestly unfit for his job -- and a growing liability for America and this administration. The sooner President Obama ousts him, the better.
