'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. The Democratic National Committee's man at ABC News, George Snuffleupagus, er, Stephanopoulos, told viewers of "World News" on Tuesday that "we've got a new poll out tonight that shows the tea party may be losing steam nationwide." But as the Media Research Center's Brent Baker pointed out, Wonder Boy and ABC couldn't find time in the same newscast to report how the very same poll showed a plurality of Americans disapprove how President Barack Obama was handling BP's oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Root, root, root for the home team, eh George• ... The Texas Nationalist Movement says it will offer bus fare to any illegal alien who wants a free, one-way trip to Washington, D.C. It says that since the federal government doesn't want to do its job, it might snap-to if it's overrun by illegals. We understand the sentiment but, uhm, excuse us -- isn't that an oxymoron• ... Pittsburgh Three Rivers Arts Festival concludes today. And with it, of course, Pittsburgh's monsoon season. Ahem.
