Notable: The top-ranked Sabres are coming off a 3-2 loss Saturday to the No. 2 team in the Eastern Conference, the New Jersey Devils. ... The Sabres have the 18th-best power play on the road at 16 percent. Their penalty kill is ranked seventh on the road at 84 percent. ... Thomas Vanek has the second-best plus/minus rating in the league at plus 33. ... The Penguins last won a game at home against the Sabres on Dec. 16, 2003, (0-1-2 since).
