Devils stave off Flyers

PHILADELPHIA -- Kurtis Foster scored a pair of power-play goals, and the New Jersey Devils held on for a 6-4 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday afternoon.

Ilya Kovalchuk, Dainius Zubrus, Zach Parise and Alexei Ponikarovsky also had goals for the Devils, who have won three in a row.

Down 6-0 to start the third period, the Flyers stormed back to make it close. Wayne Simmonds, Jaromir Jagr, Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek had Philadelphia's goals.

• Capitals 3, Canadiens 0 -- In Montreal, Tomas Vokoun made 30 saves for his third shutout of the season, and Alexander Semin scored on the second of Washington's two penalty shots.

Alex Ovechkin returned to the Capitals' lineup after serving a three-game suspension for his hit on the Penguins' Zbynek Michalek.

Dennis Wideman and Matt Hendricks also scored for Washington.

Peter Budaj stopped 20 shots for the Canadiens, who lost their third in a row.

• Canucks 3, Avalanche 2 (SO) -- In Denver, Kevin Bieksa tied the game with 34.1 seconds remaining in regulation, and Mason Raymond scored the lone goal in the shootout.

Raymond sent the puck through the pads of Jean-Sebastien Giguere and Roberto Luongo stopped all three shots he faced for Vancouver, which ended the Avalanche's 10-game shootout streak.

Ryan Kesler also added a goal for the Northwest Division leaders.

• Hurricanes 2, Kings 1 -- In Raleigh, N.C., Jeff Skinner scored 3:02 into the third period to lift Carolina.

Jiri Tlutsy also scored and Cam Ward made 24 saves for the Hurricanes.

Anze Kopitar scored for Los Angeles, and Jonathan Bernier made 20 saves.

• Lightning 6, Panthers 3 -- In Tampa, Fla., Martin St. Louis scored three times in his 900th NHL game, Steven Stamkos added his league-leading 34th goal, and the Lightning doubled up Florida.

St. Louis got two goals during Tampa Bay's four-goal second, helping the Lightning take a 5-3 lead entering the third. The right wing, who has six goals and 16 points during a nine-game point streak, completed the hat trick on an empty-netter during the final minute of play.

Nate Thompson and Vincent Lecavalier also scored for the Lightning.

• Maple Leafs 5, Senators 0 -- In Ottawa, James Reimer posted his second straight shutout, and Phil Kessel and Tyler Bozak each had three points to lead Toronto.

Kessel and Bozak each had a goal and two assists, while Dion Phaneuf, Luke Schenn and Cody Franson also scored for Toronto. Reimer stopped 49 shots for his third shutout of the season and has made 74 saves in his past two games.
