'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

The Steelers will go into training camp with five quarterbacks after signing undrafted free agent Chris Dieker of Southern Illinois today.

The 6-5, 230-pounder is third on Southern Illinois' all-time list in passing yards (5,237) and touchdowns (41).

Dieker joins Ben Roethlisberger, Byron Leftwich, Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon as the quarterbacks on the Steelers' roster. Dixon is a restricted free agent.
