'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Vincentian's Laura Primyon hit four 3-pointers, and the Royals erased a 10-point deficit in a whirlwind fourth quarter to down rival North Catholic, 54-50, in the WPIAL Class A girls basketball title game this afternoon at the Palumbo Center.

Abby Bartoszewicz hit the go-ahead free throw with 55.9 seconds to go, 40 seconds after Primyon tied the game with her fourth 3-pointer of the quarter.

It is the 6th championship for Vincentian (25-1). North Catholic (20-6) was trying to extend its record to 17 WPIAL titles.
