Rose of 'Quinn & Rose' back on the air Wednesday
Salem Media Group signs on its third Pittsburgh-market radio station May 13, when WPGP-AM (1250) begins offering a talk format the California-based company calls “The Answer.”
Conservative talk-radio show host Rose Somma-Tennent, former WPCB-TV producer and co-host of Jim Quinn's WPGB-FM (104.7) shows, will have a local show from 8 to 10 a.m. weekdays.
“This is a great opportunity for me, a chance to do a talk show that fully reflects who I am and what I care about,” Somma-Tennent says.
Salem recently purchased the former WDDZ from Radio Disney for $1 million. WDDZ's youth-oriented musical format signed off permanently earlier this week.
Westwood One's syndicated Mark Levin will hold down the 6 p.m. slot, as part of what otherwise will be a schedule of Salem Radio Network talk shows, including Bill Bennett at 6 a.m., Mike Gallagher at 10 a.m., Dennis Prager at noon, Michael Medved at 3 p.m. and Hugh Hewitt at 9 p.m.
“We want to be a station that tackles solid local and national issues with an intelligent opinion committed to truth and integrity,” Pittsburgh Salem general manager Tom Lemmon said in a prepared statement.
