Personality Test: Dave August
As the lead singer for the country band North of Mason-Dixon (NOMaD), Dave August doesn't get the exposure that many of his peers do. That's unfortunate. August is one of the most talented and charismatic vocalists in Western Pennsylvania. As a singer, August has a tone and presence that echoes Jon Bon Jovi. That's fitting in a band that rocks as hard as any country group anywhere.
NOMaD is currently working on a new album, slated to be released in late 2016.
August also appeared in the “The Road,” the 2009 movie starring Viggo Mortenson that was filmed in Pittsburgh. A native of West Newton — he went to Yough High School with drummer Ray Luzier of Korn — August now lives in Monroeville.
