Real estate notes: New housing development coming to Cranberry

• A 72-lot housing development, The Glen at Woodside, is being planned in Cranberry with Weaver Master Builders as the developer. Joining Weaver will be Charter Homes of Lancaster, Pa., which will build about half of the houses. The complex will be built on 51 acres at the intersection of Powell and Darlington roads, after township approvals.

• The 184-unit Crestview Garden Apartments in New Castle was recently purchase by Tryko Partners LLC of Brick, N.J. Tryko plans to immediately invest $1 million in improvements at the complex, which specializes in project-based Section 8 Homeowners Assistance Program. The work will include common-area renovations, a new property-wide security system, and kitchen and bath improvements in individual units. Located at 1139 Pin Oak Drive, Crestview is Tryko Partners' fourth New Castle affordable housing property. It owns and manages West View Terrace, Sheridan Place and Vista South. CBRE Capital Markets in Pittsburgh arranged financing for the acquisition through TriState Capital Bank.

• PMC Property Group's plans to convert historic Schenley High School in Oakland into 173 apartment units will be the subject of a community meeting, date to be determined, hosted by Councilman Dan Gilman's office, the Oakland Planning and Development Corp., Bellefield Area Citizens Association and the Schenley Farms Civic Association.

• Timothy J. Sakmar will seek approval Thursday of the Pittsburgh Zoning Board of Adjustment to build Villas at Winter Park, consisting of 23 three-story single-family attached homes, each with two-car integral tandem garages on Pius and Gregory streets, South Side Slopes. Garfield Glen Housing LP will also ask for approval that day for construction of 18 single-family dwellings on 18 separate properties in the 4800, 4900, 5000 and 5100 blocks of Kincaid Street, at 5004 and 5228 Broad Street and 4905 and 5003 Dearborn street, Garfield. The Duquesne Club wants to use the roof of its building at 325 6th Ave., Downtown, as urban agriculture with animals and four beehives. Elizabeth Risa wants to use an existing single-family dwelling at 1104 Berkshire Ave., Brookline, as child care for up to six children, and Pittsburgh Sign & Lighting LLC seeks approval for a 28.4-square-foot existing LED sign and 28.4-square-foot LED sign for an existing gas station at 1101 Brookline Blvd., Brookline, owned by Handee Marts Inc.

• Imamia Organization of Pittsburgh will seek the approval Wednesday of the Monroeville Planning Commission to build an 8,094-square-foot church plus other amenities at 351 Old Haymaker Rd. The group will also ask approval to establish two lots at the site. The Municipality of Monroeville will seek approval to expand its existing Public Safety Training Center at 2465 Johnson Rd. where it also plans a cut and fill operation for about 1 million cubic yards of earth. Also seeking approval is Enterprise Rent-a-Car of Pittsburgh LLC to construct a 1,250-square-foot addition to an existing 14,000-square-foot building and for additional parking area at 4845 William Penn Highway. The public hearings start at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 2700 Monroeville Blvd.

• The $6.5 million Robert Morris University School of Nursing and Health Science Center in Moon is under construction by Landau Building Co. of McCandless. The 30,000-square-foot facility will include Regional Research and Innovation in Simulation Education Center, which is currently located inside the John Jay Center. Completion is expected by October, 2015.

• Pantherx, a specialty pharmacy firm, has relocated to the Pointe at North Fayette in Robinson Township where it occupies a 7,000-square-foot office at 24 Summit Park Dr. The firm, which is awaiting accreditation, moved from a 1,000-square-foot storeroom on Fifth Street in New Brighton, Beaver County. The staff has increased from five to 20 full-time employees, said senior pharmacy manager Jonathan Ogurchak. The move was a result of receiving additional contracts, particularly one from the South Carolina Drug Assistance Program. Pantherx serves the University of Pittsburgh faculty and staff.

• Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania will hold an event Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. for the opening of its Union Station Clubhouse in Uniontown. The facility at 100 Corporate Crossing Rd. provides psychiatric rehabilitation for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness to prepare for re-entry into the workforce. Goodwill has operated a clubhouse model since 2002, serving more than 400 individuals with their journey through recovery.
