Pence & Toomey make pitches
With a week left in the long campaign, Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence rallied Donald Trump supporters Tuesday in Westmoreland County. In Downtown Pittsburgh, incumbent Republican Sen. Pat Toomey made a pitch to Millennials and disputed a recent poll that had him trailing challenger Katie McGinty.
Boost for Union Trust Building?
Pittsburgh may divert up to $5.7 million in parking tax revenue to help preserve Downtown's historic Union Trust Building . The 99-year-old “jewel of the city” just had a renovation of $100 million funded by private money.
Animals all over
While serving an eviction notice in Brookline, Allegheny County Sheriff's deputies encountered more than 150 birds and animals . At Westmoreland County's Donegal Lake, over 1,500 pounds of fish were caught as part of a two-day salvage operation to prep for the reconstruction of the lake's dam and spillway.
Full of spirit
The most notable addition to the Farm to Table Harvest Tasting event isn't a food. Wineries, distilleries and breweries will join Saturday's annual event in the Strip District .
The 40-year-old Penguin
Penguins winger Matt Cullen turns 40 today , and his teammates can only marvel at his longevity and consistency. In the early going of the season, Cullen leads in the team in points per 60 minutes at even strength (3.58).
No word on Ben
Neither Steelers coach Mike Tomlin or Ben Roethlisberger had a definitive answer on what the injured quarterback's status is for Sunday's game at Baltimore. “All cards are on the table,” Tomlin said .
