Tacos and the release of new tequila-aged whiskey and rum, along with live music, are on the menu at the May 25 Taco and Tequila Festival at the Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse. Food vendors will include Cool Beans Taco Truck, shown above.

Mexican food, washed down with a few samples of tequila-aged whiskey and rum, maybe followed up with some homemade ice cream?

Sounds like a recipe for a good time and a festive way to kick off Memorial Day weekend.

Good Food Pittsburgh and Wigle Whiskey are joining forces for a Taco and Tequila Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. May 25 at the Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse, 1055 Spring Garden Ave. on Pittsburgh's North Side.

Cocktails and tacos will mark the occasion of the release of Wigle Whiskey's tequila-aged whiskey, Al Centro, and Wigle Abajo rum, each aged for three years in tequila barrels, according to a news release.

Each $20 ticket includes samples of the new liquors, a signature cocktail, a glass of Threadbare Cider and Mead cider, salsa and chips, discount on the new liquors' purchase, and live music from The Semi-Supervillains from 7 to 9 p.m.

Vendors selling food will include La Palapa, Edgar's Best Tacos, Cool Beans Taco Truck, Casa Reyna and Millie's Homemade Ice Cream.
