Burger King wants you to order a Whopper for a penny ... at McDonald's
Burger King is selling Whoppers for a penny.
But, yes, there's a catch.
Dubbing it the "Whopper Detour," the company is touting the relaunch of its app with a promotion that asks customers to go to ... McDonald's.
In order to cash in on the 1 cent Whopper, customers must place a Burger King mobile order on the new app from within 600 feet of a McDonald's.
Once the order is placed, the app will direct you to the nearest Burger King.
And in what has the makings of this generation's Cola wars, Burger Kind isn't letting the fast-food-burger rivalry die down any time soon, taking many shots at the golden arches on social media. McDonald's did not appear to have any publicly posted rebuttals.
