The #MichaelsChallenge: the hottest trend in spring photo shoots
"In the spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love." So said Alfred Lord Tennyson.
But a young woman's fancy might turn to ... selfies ... with flowers ... and lots of them!
The latest viral trend is the #MichaelsChallenge, with mostly gals (but even guys and dogs) flocking to Michaels craft stores for photo shoots in the floral aisle.
The #MichaelsChallenge piggybacked on the #HobbyLobbyChallenge, credited to 22-year-old Kelsey Maggart of Columbia City, Ind., who apparently started the trend by tweeting photos of herself posing in a Hobby Lobby flower section.

Michaels management is encouraging people to come in and take advantage of their colorful merchandise. Local stores are getting in on the fun.
"We've definitely heard about it, and I had someone call me about it, but I haven't seen anyone come in yet," says Bobbie Carpenter, manager of the Pittsburgh Mills location in Tarentum.
Likewise, managers at the Hempfield and Monroeville stores say they have the corporate OK to allow the photo shoots, but are still waiting for the first takers.
If you go, you can make the #MichaelsChallenge glamorous.

It's for girls, guys, kids..
And even dogs.
So if you go in, have fun with the florals, but don't take advantage of Michaels' generosity. Be respectful of employees and other customers and — most of all — clean up after yourself.
