Pittsburgh Police have arrested the owner of a popular Regent Square restaurant after a woman accused him of breaking into her South Side home and sexually assaulting her earlier this week.

According to a criminal complaint, the victim and her friends were visiting Kopy's bar on the South Side Monday night when Adnan Hilton Pehlivan, 46, of Swissvale, bought them drinks and made small talk with them. The victim did not give Pehlivan her phone number or address, the complaint said.

Pehlivan's LinkedIn profile and a profile by GlobalPittsburgh.org identify him as the owner of Istanbul Sofra in Pittsburgh's Regent Square.

After the victim went to her Josephine Street home and fell asleep, she told police that she awoke to find the man from the bar sexually assaulting her, the complaint said. She fought him off and started to chase him, grabbing his collar, and he punched her to get away, police wrote in the complaint. He left through the front door, then ducked back in to grab a suit jacket that he'd left there.

Police said in the complaint that they found evidence of a break-in — one window that was unsuccessfully tried and one that was forced open.

Pittsburgh Police charged Pehlivan on Tuesday with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of an unconscious person, burglary, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and simple assault.

Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported that he was arrested and lodged at the Allegheny County Jail. Online court records show he was arraigned by District Judge Anthony Ceoffe, who set Pehlivan's bail at $20,000.
