North Hills DUI Task force announces checkpoints for this weekend
The North Hills DUI Task Force will conduct an impaired driver enforcement detail this weekend, according to a release from the group.
The group — officers from Bradford Woods, Etna, Indiana, Marshall, O’Hara, Pine, Richland, Ross, Shaler, McCandless, Millvale, West Deer and West View — says this is their 17th year working together to keep impaired drivers off the road.
“The purpose of the North Hills DUI Task Force is to save lives on the roadways and to reduce injuries,” the groups said in a release.
This weekend’s enforcement will include roving patrols as well as DUI checkpoints, according to the group.
The group has held 216 check points or roving patrols in the last 17 years, according to the release. Over that time they have tested more than 2,000 people for DUI and arrested 921.
