Cops tase, arrest naked man jumping on vehicles in Shadyside
Pittsburgh police arrested a man in Shadyside on Wednesday evening after witnesses told officers that he was naked, jumping on passing vehicles, running in the street and shouting.
Police were dispatched to the 6400 block of Living Place at about 5:10 p.m. for a report of a disorderly man in the middle of the road.
When Zone 4 officers arrived they found Kamaru-Deen Lawal of Shadyside naked, according to a city police spokeswoman. As officers walked toward Lawal and gave verbal commands, he “approached officers in an aggressive manner ignoring the commands to surrender,” police said.
As officers attempted to handcuff Lawal, he became combative, police said. A Taser was used to subdue him, but he continued to resist as he was being handcuffed by officers.
Lawal was taken to the hospital with minor lacerations. After being treated, he was taken to the Allegheny County Jail on charges including indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, three counts of disorderly conduct, open lewdness, public drunkenness, obstructing a roadway and failing to use a crosswalk.
Lawal faces a Nov. 19 preliminary hearing before Judge Jeffrey Manning.
