Police searching for man suspected in 2 North Braddock shootings
Police said Thursday they are searching for a Swissvale man who allegedly shot two people in separate incidents last month in North Braddock.
Courde Daye, 20, is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, attempted homicide and firearms violations in connections with the November shootings, court records show.
North Braddock police responded just after 2 p.m. Nov. 19 to Jones Avenue where a 44-year-old man had been shot in the leg, authorities said. The victim survived his wounds and said he’d been inside the Cole Breeze mobile electronics story when a man, later identified as Daye, robbed him at gunpoint. The man told officers he was shot as he struggled with Daye.
About 8:15 p.m. the next day, police again responded to Jones Avenue for a shooting, authorities said. An 85-year-old man had been inside Fa’s Market when a man – again identified as Daye – came in and began shooting at him. The man, who survived, was shot in the lower back.
Authorities said Daye should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at 412-255-8477.
