New entryway constructed at Hartwood Elementary
Summer renovations across the Fox Chapel Area School District campuses included construction of a new, secure vestibule at Hartwood Elementary School.
“Work continues on the main entrance as part of the district’s ongoing efforts to keep our students and staff members safe,” said Bonnie Berzonski, district coordinator of communications.
Cost was just less than $10,000.
When students return to class later this month, the initial entryway phase at the school along Saxonburg Boulevard is expected to be completed.
“We are waiting on the furniture, which would be the only delay from it being ready by the start of the school year,” she said.
Three district schools also are getting new parking lots this month. Dorseyville Middle School, Hartwood and Fairview Elementary parking lots all are currently being paved.
The work is not yet complete but the goal is to have them done by the start of school, Berzonski said.
