Fox Chapel Area homecoming skits themed 'A Night at the Movies'
Fox Chapel Area High School is gearing up for its 2018 homecoming festivities, themed “A Night at the Movies.”
The Foxes will takes on the Upper Saint Clair Panthers at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Fox Chapel Area High School stadium along Field Club Road in O’Hara.
Members of the homecoming court are seniors Emily Ben, Justin Breen, Hannah Flanders, Kristen Friday, Michael Kilmer, Sadie Lorence, Mitchell Miles and Jeremy Platt. The homecoming court attendants are juniors Ben Peterson and Emily Scheffler, sophomores Vivian Shao and Ben Siri, and freshmen Luca Pistella and Anna Szymanski.
The high school will host a community carnival from 4 to 7 p.m. on the front lawn/upper field of the campus. Most activities are free and will include games, a giant slide and bouncy houses. There will also be a free petting zoo that includes a baby zebra and camel.
Pony rides will be available for a fee. Live music from the students and faculty will be featured during the carnival and there will also be food trucks.
Each class will perform their annual skits in the stadium at 6 p.m. prior to the game. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned and the skit winners will be announced during halftime.
Parking will be available at the high school and overflow parking will be at O’Hara Elementary along Cabin Lane, where there will also be a shuttle running to the high school.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a snack item to donate for the district’s Backpack for Hunger program and for All of Us Care for their after-school program. The collection is being done by the Fox Chapel Educators Association.
Admission to the game is $3 for students and $5 for adults. Admission is free for district senior citizens who have a Gold Card.
Homecoming activities are coordinated and sponsored by the high school student government.
