Top award given to Monroeville resident for artwork in ESAL show
A Monroeville artist won the 2018 Eastern Suburban Artists League Members Show “Best of Show” award.
Pamela Price, of Monroeville, won the award for her piece entitled “The Sea Goddess,” which will be on display in the entrance hall of the Community College of Allegheny County Boyce campus, at 595 Beatty Road, through Sept. 7.
Price was one of three Monroeville residents who won awards. There were five artists from Murrysville who were awarded for their artwork and nine others from various communities also received awards.
Awards for Best of Show, Judge’s Awards and Judge’s Mentions were presented Aug. 4 on the show’s opening reception. There were 68 pieces of watercolors, photography, mixed media, acrylics, pastels, oils and drawings submitted to the show.
Some are available for purchase.
“The faculty at Boyce is pleased with the excellence and variety of the works. Having the show in their midst adds beauty, color and interest to strolls through the halls. Campus teachers visit the show with their students for learning opportunities,” said Linda Galati, ESAL’s Boyce show coordinator, in a news release.
