New president, vice president to lead Gateway Board of School Directors
The Gateway school board elected a new president and vice president at its reorganization meeting Dec. 4.
Mary Beth Cirucci will serve as the board’s president. She received six votes to top Director John Ritter, who got three votes from Directors Val Warning, George Lapcevich and himself.
Cirucci replaces former board president Scott Williams, who served in the role for two years. Cirucci was elected as vice president in December 2017 and was first elected in 2015.
Rick McIntyre, elected in 2017, won with five votes to top former vice president Cirucci, who served in the role for a year. Directors Lapcevich, Warning, Jack Bova and Ritter each cast a vote for Ritter to be vice president.
The board will meet on the second and third Tuesdays of each month starting in January.
